Teaching goals/philosophy: As an instructor, I have the opportunity to support students’ interests and ambitions by showing them the impact their writing can have on their lives and others’. I want to make writing “count” for my students, so I strive to make writing an experience my students will find engaging and enjoyable. By incorporating familiar elements into writing projects, I can help students connect their writing to situations and contexts in new ways. I hope in composing projects that are relevant, students will invest in themselves as writers.
