Teaching goals/philosophy: I come from and actualize a community that is animated by diversity and transformed by tension. Peace and Love, Black Power, and Gay Pride. As a teacher I work to recognize and honor my inheritance in the classroom by building a learning community— however virtual it might be— that is capable of engaging the presence of diversity through dialogical methods: dialogue with each other, our texts, and ourselves as a means of critical reflection and action. Underlining my teaching practices are questions of knowledge, power, and identity.
