Teaching goals/philosophy: I believe that learning is a social dialogical process (a conversation in which the ideas of all participants are heard and considered) constructed from and through lived experiences. I support the act of drawing upon lived experiences and believe engagement is brought about through sharing of experiences, sharing of ideas, the act of keeping commitments, and respect for the contributions of peers. It is important to me that individual experiences, desires, and aspirations of community members influence and construct the learning process. My teaching philosophy focuses on the importance of thoughtful contribution to discussion for unveiling and unearthing deeper considerations of course material.
