DSC00767cropDegree in progress: M.F.A in Creative Writing, Fiction

More about Rachel:

Although I graduated from New Mexico State University’s undergraduate program in December 2015 with a B.A. in English, I came home again in Fall 2016 to become a Fiction MFA candidate in NMSU’s graduate program. What fascinates me is identity: how our “self” is created, how it’s navigated from internal and external forces, and how we either succumb to those identities or choose to wield them as our weapons. I believe the great advantage of continuing my academic education is the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and embrace the challenges that face me in my fiction, my coursework, and in my teaching.
