Western States Rhetoric and Literacy 2018: Matter and Mattering


The conference will be held on the New Mexico State University Campus in Las Cruces, NM on November 2-3, 2018. The keynote address, which frames the theme and stakes of the conference, will be delivered in the morning of November 2  (9:00a Mountain Time).

Las Cruces’ closest airport is the El Paso International Airport (ELP) located in El Paso, Texas, which is about an hour drive.  Attendees flying to El Paso can reserve an airport shuttle for transportation to and from Las Cruces: https://www.airportshuttles.com/elpaso.php

Conference Hotel Shuttle

A shuttle will be available for transportation to and from the Hilton Garden. Pick up at the hotel on both days will run between 7:30 and 8:45a; it will return guests to the hotel at the conclusion of each day.

For attendees who are interested, the weather in November should also be amenable for walking to and from the conference.



Conference attendees can print a one day Visitor Parking Pass for use in Visitor Lots on Friday, Nov 2. Parking is free and unrestricted in all lots on Saturday, Nov 3. https://park.nmsu.edu/visitor/
