Michelle Granger was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is a College Professor in the English Department at New Mexico State and teaches classes in Children’s Literature, Film as Literature, Writing in the Humanities, Rhetoric, and Technical and Professional Communication. She has a B.A. in English with a emphasis on Literature and an M.A. in Literature with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies. She has taught in the NMSU English Department and Writing Program for over 10 years. Her research interests include Modernist Literature and film; creative non-fiction; and Children’s and Young Adult Literature. And more specifically, the ways cultural representations and historical contexts are both signified in, and informed by, literature and other cultural artifacts. Her philosophy in writing pedagogy revolves around collaboration with students on building strengths and affirming literacies.
