Biographical Statement:
Jordan Lavender-Smith earned his B.A. in English from New Mexico State University and his Ph.D. in English with a concentration in Film Studies from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Prior to returning to Las Cruces, Jordan worked as a teaching professor in the English program at the University of Oklahoma. His research interests include narrative theory, critical digital studies, surveillance studies, and film. Jordan’s goal as a teacher is to empower students to find and develop their unique voices, both as college writers and as active participants in their communities.
